Best Outfits for Boudoir

Don’t know what to wear? Choosing an outfit for your boudoir photo shoot doesn’t have to be a challenge. With the right mindset and resources, you can let go of your shopping anxiety and walk away with pieces that you feel confident and sexy in for your big day.

So what’s the game plan for your boudoir outfits?

First, it’s key that you’re shopping for the right size. Every woman’s body is unique, and after getting fitted and measured a lot of women learn that they’ve been wearing ill-fitting bras their entire lives! Consultations at department stores and Victoria’s Secret are old classics, and they’re now offered both in-person and online. Soma is another good choice if you’re a 36DD or more.

Now, shopping is the fun part! The most important thing to keep in mind is that you’re shopping for you. Your photos will look their best if you feel confident in what you’re wearing, and this means staying true to yourself when you’re making your selections. If you’re not exactly sure what your vibe is, SavageXFenty has a great online quiz to help you out! Keep in mind that solid colors and clean lines usually photograph best! If you’re feeling unsure about your picks, always know that you can reach out to us for assurance.

When you come into the studio for your pre-shoot boudoir consultation, you’ll leave with my list of fave places to shop for lingerie online as well as my boudoir & lingerie guides.

Personally, a locally owned store I recommend checking out for your fitting & shopping is Darlin’ Intimates in Nashville. Worth the drive into the city!

Clarksville Boudoir Session with D. Phillips Photography

These light and airy boudoir photos with Ms. L were so much fun to photograph!! While she enjoyed some hair and makeup glam and sipped on a mimosa, we went through her outfit options and selected the pieces that would work the best for her photo shoot.

Ms. L decided to go for soft, romantic, light, and airy vibes for her boudoir session, and I think we definitely achieved that vision. I absolutely love how everything turned out! The light in my boudoir studio in downtown Clarksville is perfect for what she had in mind. When her album was ready, getting to see everything come together in print was absolutely stunning 🙌🏼

Shoutout to artist Danielle Stein for gorgeous hair and makeup styling! Here’s a behind the scenes pic of her bringing those tousled waves to life :D Keep scrolling to see more of Ms. L’s gorgeous portraits!
