Investing in a boudoir session with D. Phillips Photography is all about the experience, and I want you to have a fabulous one! Here are some tips about the little details that will help enhance how you feel and look during your boudoir session in my studio located in Clarksville.
Four Weeks Before
Begin moisturizing regularly
Plan any accessories or meaningful items you’d like to bring to your shoot
Treat yourself to pretty lingerie (for suggestions on where to shop that’s not just Victoria’s Secret, email me and I’ll send you a list of my favorite stores!)
Three Days Before
Make sure your eyebrows are nicely shaped and groomed
Exfoliate your face and lips
Drink plenty of water for luminous skin
If you wax, do so a few days before your session to avoid any bumpiness or redness
If you’re planning to get your hair cut or colored, give yourself a few days to make sure you’re happy with it
Watch your salt intake (and other bloaty foods)
Try on your outfits to make sure they fit properly. Remove all tags and labels.
Double check everything is properly packed and ready for your shoot: heels, outfits, and jewelry
The Day Before
Invest in a mani + pedi. So worth it!
Clean your rings
Bathe, shave, and moisturize (you’ve been moisturizing this whole time, right? It makes such a difference, I swear!)
Enjoy a good night’s sleep
Plan for a relaxed, quiet morning before your shoot
On the day of your shoot…
Wear a button up shirt and loose-fitting clothing to your session to avoid red marks or imprints on your skin
Eat something light but filling before you leave the house
Use clear deodorant
Arrive with clean hair and a clean face
Almost ready?? On the morning of your shoot, remember to take a few deep breaths and relax! It’s completely normal to be a bit nervous before your boudoir shoot, but I promise that you have nothing to worry about. We’ll go through your outfits together, chat like girlfriends as you’re getting your hair and makeup done, and I’ll show you exactly how to pose to get the perfect shot.
